After a damp start, Anglesey was at its scenic best for the CRMC’s mid-season stop-over, with class and outright lap and race records tumbling with almost every race. Graham Lawlor and Pete Morris were the racefans who got to witness it all, on a weekend that saw Joe Barton establish himself at the top of both the 500 Classic and 1300 Post Classic ACU championships and also set a new CRMC outright Anglesey lap record of 1:12.052.

Ash Beckett continued his terrific 2019 form with four wins and four second places on his RS125 Honda (37, pictured) and FZ600 Yamaha. Despite all that, the modest 21-year-old Spalding rider had to be retrieved from the shower to receive Saturday evening’s Rider of the Day award, having considered he’d not done enough to earn it!

Joe Barton (P7M Kawasaki 1260) enjoys the winner’s spoils, including the Derek Minter Trophy, after beating Minnovation team-mate Lee Hodge by 3.744 seconds in Sunday’s Hercberg International/ACU Post Classic race, extending his lead in the championship. Hodge (left) and third place man, Phil Atkinson (right, TZ350) both mull over what might have been. Earlier, Barton had pipped Hodge in the Minnovation/ACU Classic 500 round, putting him at the head of the championship after previous leader Richard Molnar had crashed at Rocket In corner.
