A captivating timed online auction is set to unfold between the 1st and 11th of December, with bidding closing from midday on the 11th. Bonhams’ timed auctions are set to become a regular feature following the recent successful sale of The Forshaw Race Bib Collection, which drew white glove results.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a first-time buyer, the December Sale provides a welcoming backdrop to discuss your prized motorcycle or collection.
With motorcycles ranging from barn find projects to modern-day marvels, the December Sale promises an extraordinary opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors to own a piece of motorcycling history. The 1921 Rudge 499cc Multi Project (£4,000 – 6,000 – to be offered Without Reserve), a true relic of motorcycling history. The Multi, developed as an improvement over the Mabon variable gear, is a testament to Rudge’s innovative spirit. Offered directly from a deceased’s estate, the motorcycle has been carefully stored, awaiting the touch of a passionate collector. Though in need of recommissioning or possible restoration, its charm lies in its untouched character accumulated over time.
An unusual three-wheel gem, the 1934 BSA 9hp TW-34 Sports (£8,000 – 12,000), a rare front-wheel-drive BSA sports car. This unique vehicle, acquired dismantled in 2009 and meticulously restored, showcases the intersection of vintage style and engineering prowess. Boasting a new ash body frame and powered by a 9hp, four-cylinder, side-valve engine, this BSA offers a glimpse into the bygone era of automotive craftsmanship.
The 1939 Triumph 498cc Tiger 100 (£15,000 – 20,000), fitted with the desirable bronze cylinder head, represents Triumph’s top-of-the-range sports roadster from the pre-war era. An older restoration last run in 2012, this Tiger 100 beckons for recommissioning, promising a thrilling ride once revived. Its iconic design and historical significance make it a coveted piece for collectors.
Fast-forward to the 1990s, and the ‘Seeley-Suzuki’ 500cc Replica Racing Motorcycle (£8,000 – 10,000) emerges as a tribute to racing heritage. Constructed with a replica of the late great Colin Seeley’s famous frame, housing a Suzuki T500 motor, this machine embodies the spirit of racing innovation, and offers prospective bidders a rare and dynamic entry into classic racing.
The 1990 Norton 588cc F1 (£15,000 – 20,000), resplendent in John Player Special livery, epitomizes Norton’s last endeavour to fuse style with the renowned rotary engine. Boasting two owners since new and residing with the current oner since 2004, it encompasses a factory-rebuilt engine with molybdenum-coated end-plates, elevating its performance and displays just 14,587 miles. With race-inspired design, a Spondon frame, White Power forks, Brembo brakes, and unique specifications, the F1 stands out as a pinnacle of British motorcycle engineering. Enhanced under the care of the current owner, including a twin-radiator conversion, this sought-after Norton comes with a rich history.
Number ’62’ of the limited production run of 300, the 1997 Ducati 916 Senna II (£16,000 – 20,000) pays homage to Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna. Distinguished by its dark grey palette, 916SPS chassis, and Pankl con-rods, this edition stands as a superior variant of the iconic Ducati 916 Strada. With a mere 8,855 kilometres on the odometer, it boasts just two prior owners and has been in the possession of the current vendor since August 2013. Maintained with care, recent timing belt replacement by Signature Moto in March 2022 enhances its allure. Complete with documentation, including V5C and MoT, this Senna II is a rare gem.
The 1975 Ducati 750 GT (£16,000 – 20,000), a landmark v-twin, embodies the legendary design of Fabio Taglioni. This one-owner gem, expertly upgraded, carries the spirit of Ducati’s post-war legacy. Originally supplied by Johnson Yamaha, its Isle of Man registration reflects a storied history. Enhanced with Lucas RITA ignition, and thoughtful modifications, it’s a unique blend of heritage and innovation. Notable features include a Yamaha RD400 instrument console, Japanese switchgear, and a Honda CB500T master cylinder. Offered with Isle of Man documents, purchase agreement, and rare spares, it’s an exquisite testament to Ducati’s enduring legacy.
The 1999 Kawasaki 676cc W650 Custom by Deus Ex Machina (£6,000 – 8,000), featured in ‘The Book of Deus,’ celebrates nostalgia with its retro-inspired design. A standout feature at The Bike Shed III event and showcased in the Ace Café 75th Anniversary Special magazine, this W650 street tracker captures the essence of the 1960s. Crafted by Deus Ex Machina, known for their innovative customizations, it exudes style. Acquired by the current vendor in 2018, this special motorcycle comes with build sheets, service invoices and an MoT until October 2024, just begging to be ridden!
The 2014 Ducati 1199 Superleggera (£38,000 – 42,000), number ‘040’ of 500, exemplifies the pinnacle of Ducati engineering. Based on the Panigale R, it boasts a feather-light dry weight of 155kg, powered by a 200bhp Superquadro engine. With a mere 3,976 miles and one owner, this Superleggera’s rarity is matched by its pristine condition. Meticulously stored, it features an Akrapovic exhaust box. Accompanied by its Ducati wallet, manual, and service booklet, last stamped in 2017, this ultimate v-twin superbike comes with an MoT until May 2024.
