Two of CR’slong-standing, expert contributors – Alan Cathcart and Bruce Cox – have some wonderful gift solutions for racing fans making their way into stores, both actual and digital; both certainly worth a look at. Bruce’s terrific book, Racing with Kawasaki – The Inside Story (pictured), is the most complete account of racing with the top-level squad in the 1970s. The 344-page tome features over 100 illustrations and plenty of great photos of the people and bikes of the era.

There’s also the 2019 Classic Racing Legends calendar and Alan’s DVD of his 990cc MotoGP tests appearing now, covering all bases of two-wheeled combat. You’ll find their details elsewhere in Classic Racerthis month. And of course, what better gift for you (feel free to leave this page open near a loved one) than a subscription to Classic Racer? We’ve got some cracking deals on the go now, see page 26 for details.

Okay, that’s enough about Christmas. Let’s get back to the racing and I sincerely hope that you enjoy this issue.
