Joey Dunlop stamps a sellout

The original Joey folder, produced to celebrate 30 years since his first TT win for Honda, went on sale at the start of the TT. Within three days all 300 folders, which included a piece of a genuine Honda T-shirt worn by the 26-times TT winner, had been sold. Demand was so high, many fans of the Ballymoney racing legend were left disappointed. Isle of Man Stamps and Coins has responded with a new collection celebrating Joey’s career.

The 'Yer Maun Joey Collection' includes a Joey commemorative sheet of stamps celebrating the TT legend and family man, two vintage Joey postcards and a print of stamp artwork from the 2001 issue Joey King of the Mountain, which featured the photography of Stephen Davison. The print is personally signed by Stephen.

Maxine Cannon, General Manager, Isle of Man Stamps & Coins, said: “In order to satisfy demand for a Joey collectible following the quick sell out of the limited edition folder, we have brought together a stunning collection of postcards, a print, and special sheet of stamps which all celebrate Yer Maun’s illustrious TT career. Hopefully this will go some way to making up for the disappointment of Joey fans who missed out on the limited edition folder.”

The collection, costing £17.50, can be purchased from the Regent Street Post Shop in Douglas or Joey Dunlop Foundation stand behind the TT Grandstand from Monday, June 3, or ordered online at www.iomstamps.com.
