As described by Bonhams, the machine is directly associated with Barry Sheene during his 1977 World Championship-winning campaign. The RG500 XR14 represents Suzuki’s factory Grand Prix development of the period and forms part of the works Texaco Heron Team machinery of the late 1970s.
Its appearance at Stafford gives visitors the opportunity to view a documented works Grand Prix motorcycle from Sheene’s championship era before it goes under the hammer as part of the Bonhams sale.

The International Classic MotorCycle Show takes place on 25–26 April 2026 at the Staffordshire Showground, bringing together classic motorcycles, club displays, attractions, traders and the Bonhams auction.
