Rob Vine Norton
By: Malc Wheeler
Regular readers will remember the plea for help from Ed Vine, in these pages, several issues ago for help in restoring the Norton Metisse which launched the successful race career of the late Rob Vine. Well, thanks to the skill and dedication of Peter Allen, it is restored and ready to ride. And it could be you enjoying track time on this genuine classic.
The Norton Metisse is being auctioned on Wednesday 1 September after the prize presentations for the Manx Grand Prix classic races at the Villa Marina, Douglas, with all the money raised going to the Rob Vine Fund, the charity set up in Rob’s memory and which provides medical equipment for us at Manx motorsport events.
Don’t worry if you aren’t attending the Manx Grand Prix, you can register a sealed bid with Dr David Stevens, The Rob Vine Fund, The Hoggery, Nobles Park, Douglas, Isle of Man IM2 4BD or email robvinefund@mms.org.im
