Welcome to Classic Racer’s spangly new website. Yes, I know it’s no substitute for the real thing, just think of it as a little bit extra for free!

Welcome

Regular readers of Classic Racer, (If you aren’t, why not?), will know what a vibrant classic race scene there is these days, and how international the world of classic racing has become. During a hectic season we cover events from the USA, Europe, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia, and one of the most asked questions is “how can I find out what’s on where and when?”

Well, the answer is that we often find out at the last minute, or at least too late to hit Classic Racer’s bulging news pages, so my plan is to use these pages (should that be this screen?) to keep you up to date with what’s on when, and where. With two months to wait for the next issue of the real thing, hopefully, we’ll quickly build a useful events guide to fill the gaps between magazines. If you know of a great event, however large or small, please let me know.

If you’ve read the news, you’ll see that the anticipation is building as we head towards what promises to be the best Bikers Classics’ ever. Few circuits in the world offer the atmosphere that Spa Francorchamps does, and few organisers work harder to gather together such a line up of stars.

If you’ve never made the journey to the Ardennes, or if you watched Grand Prix racing there in the past, and haven’t been back since the Belgium GP was dropped from the calendar, then it’s time you did. The weekend of 11 to 13 June is the date and www.bikersclassics.be has up-to-date news on which racing legends you can rub shoulders with in the friendly, open, paddock.

Let me know what you think about the new pages at mwheeler@mortons.co.uk and I hope to catch up with you in the real world at a classic event soon. Oh, and before you leave, click on the subscribe now page.
