Reunited down under
By: Web Editor
Dear Malc,
At a chance meeting at last year’s NZ Classic Register races at Pukekohe two former MGP riders were reunited after a gap of nearly 35 years.
David Hunt was in NZ from the UK with his wife Jenny to visit his son and family here. He was recognised by me as they were strolling through the pits, amazing after such a long time. David and I started together in the 1976 Junior MGP, he was riding an AJS 7R at number 8 and I was Aermacchi mounted at 9.
Dave and Jenny joined us at home in Auckland, the following weekend for a very pleasant dinner. My wife Marion and Jenny, both having been at that same 1976 MGP. A photo of David with me, my wife Marion and younger son Daniel is attached. Motorcycle racing is such a small world it seems.

Great to hear from you Andy and I hope you enjoy Classic Racer.
