Grand Prix Motorcycle Racers – The American Heroes. - Norm DeWitt
Classic Racer’s own Norm DeWitt, who always amazes with his seemingly unlimited access to America’s legendary race stars, has gone to print with this great book chronicling the careers of the very best from his side of the pond.
San Diegan Norm covers the golden era when there was a seemingly endless flow of talent from across the Atlantic and features Roberts, Schwantz, Rainey and Lawson and runs right up to the most recent US champion Nicky Hayden.
An absolute essential for any race fan’s bookshelf Grand Prix Motorcycle Racers – The American Heroes is published by Motorbooks, which should be available from all good bookshops, and costs a bargain £18.99. For more information or to locate a stockist go to www.motorbooks.com
Peter Williams – Designed to Race – Peter Williams
Another long awaited autobiography, from a man as much at home on the drawing board as he was aboard a bike the story of Peter Williams will keep you spellbound.
Growing up the son of his famous father Jack it was almost inevitable that Peter would become involved in the sport, but even his father would have been hard pressed to predict what young Peter would go on to achieve, both on the track or at the drawing board.
A real tear jerker at times, Peter has opened his heart and produced a biography to be proud of. The large format book is nicely designed and well illustrated, with many of the family album photographs having not been seen in public before. An essential for any race fan’s bookshelf.
Peter Williams – Designed to Win costs £29.95 and is published by Redline Books. For more information or to buy a copy direct from the publisher go to www.redlinebooks.co.uk
