A bit on the side
By: Web Editor
Dear Malc,...I have just read the news about John Brown in Issue 151of Classic Racer. Please pass on my best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.
John may remember me from the period 1965-1972 when I rode with Dick Hawes on the Seeley 500 built by Colin Seeley and with Terry Vinicombe in several GPs and TTs winning four silver replicas between 1968 and 1971. I also rode with Roy Hanks in the Island in 1967 and 1972 gaining one bronze and two silver replicas along with the Terry Vinicombe Trophy.
For my sins I currently Mentor the Gristwood & Toms team and was delighted to see Graham Lawlor’s report on Knockhill in June with the photo of four of our five outfits leading the charge. I would be delighted to hear further news of John as I have fond memories of his visits to my Thames van kitchen for an early morning cuppa and bacon roll.
